| We both worked
at the same company, same division, however, different departments.
I worked in accounting and she worked in travel. I remember the first
day she came to work and was introduced to her colleagues in the division,
including me. I saw her once in a while, at meetings or when we had
to coordinate travel arrangements for one of the company executives.
She was always very cordial and sometimes we would compliment each other
on our dress.
One day, about three months
into her employment with the company, she sent an e-mail asking whether
anyone had a safety pin.
The e-mail was addressed
to six people, five women and me. I was frantic because I wanted to be
the one who gave her that safety pin. I never thought “why would
she include me in an e-mail asking for a safety pin.”
Anyway, ten minutes later
another e-mail came saying that she had found one. I was disappointed.
A couple weeks later, she
sent e-mail inviting some of her younger co-workers to a Friday after work
concert in the park. I had been to a couple of those concerts in
the past and they were quite enjoyable. I saw an opportunity to be
in her company in surroundings that we both seemed to enjoy. Indeed,
it was enjoyable; only three of us were there; she, another female co-worker
and me. After the concert, we got a bite to eat and must have
talked to midnight. All that weekend, I could only savor those moments
we were in each other’s company. I felt like a kid – you know, the
feeling you got when she (whoever) first touched your hand.
On Monday morning, our paths
crossed in the hall and if she could have seen inside me she would have
seen mush. She had a most enjoyable time and hope that we could do it again.
Now, the rest is history. Oh, by the way – unknown to me, she had the same
feelings when our paths crossed in the hall that Monday morning.
However, she had more control of her voice than I did!!!!
HONEY, I LOVE YOU!! |
